The directory libasi has a recent SDK which provides the library used here, and
its documentation. It also has executable programs that will operate the ASI
cameras with full functionality and should be considered first because they are
very versatile, capture fast frame video, and manage color images.

XmCCD integrates ZWO monochrome CMOS cameras into the scientific imaging
framework that connects with XPA, XmTel, and XEphem. These cameras are a
cost-effective alternative to the previous generation of CCDs when they are
retired from use. Other camera manufacturers - notably Diffraction Limited and
QHY - offer comparable designs.

While we will maintain legacy camera support, new development will focus on the
cameras we have in hand, currently including ZWO and SBIG.

This release of XmCCD has been tested with the ASI174 and ASI6200 monochrome
cameras that use backside illuminated Sony CMOS sensors. The software in this
Version 7.0 RC1 is subject to change before the final version 7.0 is released.
