=================

This package provides software to Apogee USB and SBIG cameras on 64-bit
Linux systems. It was recently tested on OpenSuse Leap 15.

We currently use the SBIG STL, STX,STXL, ST10, and the Apogee Aspen and Alta
cameras. This software has been tested for them, and it should work
for other from SBIG and Apogee currently in production excepting SBIG Alumina
which use a different protocol that is not public.

Please note that SBIG library is proprietary and is included here courtesy of
SBIG. The version in this package is the most recent one offered when the
current code was developed. It is well documented and supporting information
is included here. We intend to provide SBIG support for Linux whenever they
provide suitable libraries.

A version of the Apogee library provided courtesy of Andor Apogee and David
Mills is also included. It supports only the original Apogee cameras. Future
support for Andor/Oxford products will not be provided.

New support for other cameras with opensource libraries is intended. Currently
those are ZWO-ASI, Fingerlakes Instruments, and Allied Vision Technologies.
Possible support for the Sony Alpha 7 III camera is under consideration.

The visualization of camera output is through ds9 and the xpa interface. Hooks
enabling use of AstroImageJ are under development.

A more complete user manual that is actively updated will be available
from our website.
.

Other features or camera support may be added as needed so please contact us
when you find an error or an opportunity for improvement.
