WISPI in the Dome
In late 1995, for observations of comets Hale-Bopp
and Hyakutake,
WISPI with its original liquid nitrogen cooled, back-illuminated,
thinned CCD was located
in the main dome at Moore Observatory. The mounting
was placed on
a temporary platform to put it above the dome wall,
and the instrument was operated from the warm control
room.
